Themed on my obsession for Indian Architecture and love for design and painting alike this work below is part of a larger work and fashion accessory collection that I had designed and fabricated
The entire collection was divided into two groups:
-Painting inspired
-Design inspired
This work is part of the painting group, inspired by the UNESCO World Heritage Site: The Ajanta Caves, India
The paintings were created to fabricate the two sides of a handbag
The one side was inspired by the chaitya motifs that adorn the front facade of the many caves at Ajanta
The other side was inspired by the rendition of Mahaparinirvana Statue of Buddha found in cave no.26
